A young woman employed at a media agency in Jaffna and her elder brother fell victim to a fatal attack yesterday (10) The attackers wielded swords in this gruesome assault.
The Jaffna Chthaweli Police received reports that a group of assailants forcibly entered their residence in the Nirveli area of Jaffna during the early morning hours.
Both victims sustained severe injuries from the sword attacks and were subsequently rushed to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
The victims have been identified as Ganesarathnam Venuja (24) and her brother Ganesarathnam Yogeswaran (45), residents of the Neerveli area.
Authorities from the Jaffna Chhalweli Police are actively investigating the incident.
