The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has made the decision to appoint Sajin Vas Gunawardena as the chief organizer of Ambalangoda SLFP and the leader of the Galle district SLFP.
Sajin Vas Gunawardena previously served as a Member of Parliament for the Galle District under the United People’s Alliance. He was known as a trusted confidant of Mahinda Rajapaksa and managed various highly personal affairs for him.
This decision comes after Shan Wijayalal de Silva, the former organizer of Ambalangoda SLFP and Galle district leader, left the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to join the Samagi Jana Balawega on the first day of the new year (01).
