In a recent operation conducted by the Police Special Task Force in front of the State Engineering Corporation on Negombo Road, Peliyagoda, a substantial quantity of smuggled mobile phones, telephone accessories, wristwatches, and other items were confiscated.
Two individuals, aged 23 and 43 and residing in Colombo 12 and Wattala, were transporting the illicit goods in a car. They have been handed over to the Peliyagoda Police Station for further investigation by the Special Task Force.
The seized items include:
100 Redmi 12c mobile phones, 15 Redmi 12 mobile phones, 11 iPhones, 25 Galaxy M04 mobile phones, 4 Galaxy Tabs, 20 Galaxy A04 mobile phones, 4 Galaxy F13 mobile phones, 2 Notc 12 Pro+ mobile phones, 1 Galaxy Z Fold 05 mobile phone, 4 Galaxy A14 mobile phones, 20 Galaxy A54 5g mobile phones, 5 Galaxy M34 5g mobile phones, 4 Galaxy S23 5g mobile phones, 26 Galaxy A34 5g mobile phones, 77 other phones, 6 Apple watches, 1 Galaxy watch, 1 Apple Ultra watch, 20 phone chargers, 1 Bluetooth hands-free, 35 back covers for phones.
The police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
