In order to enable immediate supplies, Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda says that he has proposed to the government to resume the ferry service between Kankesanthurai in Jaffna and Rameswaran Pondicherry in India and to resume flights between Jaffna and Trincomalee with the approval of the Cabinet.
The Minister said that the shipping service is very important to get the assistance from India as soon as possible and the airline is very important in importing emergency medicines.
The Minister further said that with the approval of the Cabinet, the shipping and air services will be able to commence soon.
