Prior to the election of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament this morning (05), former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe went to the seats of the members of parliament and campaigned for saying “Vote for Ranjith Siyambalapitiya who was nominated by the ruling party” MP Shanakkiyan Rasamanikkam alleged in the Parliament today .
He said.
“The drama was shown clearly this morning with the election of the Deputy Speaker. We saw the former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe asking individuals to support Mr. Siyambalapitiya from the ruling party. He is in the opposition. ”
“We have seen the Sri Lanka Freedom Party supporting Ranjith Siyambalapitiya. Prof. GL Peiris of the People’s Front too said that he supports Siyambalapitiya.
“Today there are only 65 MPs for Sri Lanka. There are 148 MPs for the Rajapaksas. The Rajapaksas are trying to save. ”
“It simply came to our notice then. No matter what impeachment motion is brought, these thugs, thieves and liars will not come to vote against Rajapaksa. ”
