Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka and Dullas Allahapperuma will contest for the presidency tomorrow in Parliament. Much speculated candidate Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa who came to an agreement with Dullas Alahapperuma and the group of ruling party Mps who support him will not contest for the presidency.
Nominations for the presidency was called for in Parliament today and the name of Ranil Wickremesinghe, Dullas Allhapperuma and Anura Kumara Dissanayake was proposed and seconded by their respective members of te Parliament.
Dullas Alahapperuma ‘s name was proposed by the Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and G.L Peiris seconded while Dinesh Gunawardena proposed Ranil Wickremesinghe and his names was seconded by Manusha Nanayakkara.
National People’s Power Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake ‘s name proposed by MP vijitha Herath and his name was seconded by NPP MP Harini Amarasuriya.
