President Ranil Wickremesinghe has planned to finalise the work connected to forming an all-party government jointly with all other parties represented in Parliament by the end of next week.
There were discussions held between the President and political parties,
over the past few days, in connection with the formation of the new government.
The suggestions of the political parties and MPs about setting up an all-party government have reportedly been taken into consideration to devise a policy framework within the next few days, according to political sources.
Religious leaders, including the Maha Sangharatna, and monetary institutions assisting Sri Lanka and foreign countries have requested the government to bring about political stability by strengthening the formation of the all-party government.
A powerful minister told Lankasara that an all-party government would be on the cards immediately after the finalisation of the negotiations.
