President Ranil Wickramasinghe has sent written invitations to all MPs to unite for an all-party government.
The President has sent this invitation this morning to all the MPs, informing that it is the duty of the MPs would be come together to create such a government.
The President has mentioned that the government is making every effort to restore the political and economic stability. Accordingly, he was preparing the basic plans for the implementation of a systematic economic reform program, and we are also taking the necessary basic steps to create economic stability.
In order to successfully overcome the challenges before us, I am of the opinion that a program should be implemented with the participation of all political parties, scholarly groups, civil organizations etc. represented in the Parliament. Since the intention of the general public is that all the public representatives represented by them in the parliament work to find solutions to the economic and social crises of the country through a common program. It is the duty of the government and you too.
The President has noted that he was intend to build a broad dialogue on the next steps including the 19th Constitutional Amendment and the re-introduction of the Parliamentary Oversight Committee system.
