MPs get receive over one lakh additionally for fuel!

Parliamentary sources say that the fuel allowance of all MPs has been suddenly increased by nearly two lakhs.

Accordingly an MP in far away areas like Jaffna will be received monthly an additional amount of nearly two lakhs for fuel. However MPs of other provinces will also get more than 100,000 Lankadeepa reported vased on parliamentary sources .

The fuel allowance given to parliamentarians has been adjusted to the old fuel price until last June. Due to the economic crisis, the payment of allowance adjusted according to the increased fuel price was stopped recently with an order of former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

Considering the economic difficulties, a number of MPs had requested the government authorities to pay the stipend according to the new prices of fuel.
