President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has informed Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that he will resign on the exact date, tomorrow as he promised sources said.
It has been further learned that the required procedures has been prepared in consultation with the Chief Justice.
According to political sources, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be appointed as the Acting President.
sources said that the fact will be further discussed in the party leaders meeting to be held this afternoon with the chair of the speaker. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend the party leaders’ meeting today.
