President has initiated the appointment of all District Secretaries as Additional Welfare Commissioners.
In his role as the Minister of Monetary Economic Stabilization and National Policy, these appointments align with the stipulations of the Welfare Benefits Act No. 24 of 2002, aiming to fulfill the objectives outlined in the Act.
These appointments are effective from the 1st of November,2023. The Welfare Benefits Board will be responsible for assigning duties to these Additional Welfare Commissioners and Deputy Welfare Commissioners.
