President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has praised the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena, for his outstanding contribution and unwavering commitment to reviving the Sri Lankan economy following its recent crisis.
Speaking at a public event, the President acknowledged Mr. Siriwardena’s crucial role in stabilizing the economy and guiding the country through difficult times. He noted that such dedication and professionalism were vital to the progress Sri Lanka has made in recent months.
President Dissanayake also announced that Mr. Siriwardena will be retiring from his current position at the end of this month. Following his retirement, he is set to assume the role of Alternate Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
In his new role, Mr. Siriwardena will represent and support several Asian countries, including Sri Lanka, contributing his expertise at a regional level. The President expressed confidence that Sri Lanka will continue to benefit from Mr. Siriwardena’s service, even in his new international capacity.
