Dr. Sachithra Adeesha Weerasekera, the son of Rear Admiral (retd) Dr. Sarath Weerasekera, Minister of Public Security, who is also an Assistant Supirindent of Police has posted a contoversial note on his Facebook page condemning those who insulted stones and excrement.

The son of the Minister of Public Security is making this note at a time when there was a news in the country that a stone and a shit had been hurled at journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrema’s house in Piliyandala this morning.

The attack was relentlessly condemned by civil society organizations, political parties, as well as the cardinal. The main reason for such condemnation was that Chamuditha Samarawickrema was being attacked not for personal reasons but because of his career as a journalist.

However, Rear Admiral Dr. Sarath Weerasekera and his son Sachithra Weerasekera were among the politicians who were ruthlessly criticized by him in the recent past. The incident took place when Piumi Hansamali and Chandimal Jayasinghe were involved in a quarantine incident and were involved in supplying clothes.
