Former Minister and The leader of the United Republic Front, MP Patali Champika Ranawaka says that he is ready to accept the presidential candidacy if there is a request based on the proposal of a broad alliance.
He further said that he would intervene to create a political alliance that could build the country by providing solutions to the current crises. According to MP Ranawaka, a former high-profile minister the negotiations for a new political alliance have started and he emphasizes that its purpose is not to win the elections.
” It should be filed only around a specific program of country building. The alliance should nominate the representatives who should stand for the election. I am ready to accept the challenge if there is a request to accept the presidential candidacy. Also even if the alliance nominates another person, I will stand for his victory.” He further said.
