The Parliament has been prorogued by the President Ranil Wickremesinghe till August 3, 2022, a gazette notice stated.
Parliament had been prorogued from midnight yerstery (28), until 10.30 am on August 3, the notice said. Sources said that there will be ceremonial opening by the President on 03 rd, Tuesday by the President.
The prorogation automatically dissolves 12 parliamentary committees including the Committee on Public Enterprises, Committee on Public Accounts, Committee of Public Finance.
