Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday morning, during which he condemned the recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.
In a message shared on X, Sharif commended Saudi Arabia for what he described as its “remarkable restraint” amid the ongoing crisis. He also urged an immediate cessation of hostilities, a return to stability, and stronger unity across the Muslim world.
Sharif noted that he briefed the Crown Prince on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
In a separate statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said that Prince Mohammed appreciated Pakistan’s peace initiatives, with both leaders agreeing to remain in close contact.
The discussion comes at a time when Pakistan is positioning itself as a potential venue for dialogue between the United States and Iran. Sharif had earlier stated that Pakistan stands ready and would be honoured to host meaningful negotiations aimed at achieving a comprehensive resolution to the conflict.
