Opposition political parties representing Parliament have resolved to draw up a road map for implementation following an animated discussion held last evening.

The implementation of the programme will depend on the endorsement of all political parties, a spokesman for the committee said

Sajith Premadasa, the leader of Samagi Jana Balavega, the main party representing the opposition besides the Jathika Janabala Wegaya, former President Maithripala Sirisena, leader of Sri Lanka Freedom Party, opposition political parties and independent groups in Parliament and a section from the government also joined this meeting.

Following the discussion held at the Parliament Complex, a committee consisting of all parties was appointed to carry forward the work of forming an all-party government.

All participants agreed to nominate Parliamentarian Laxman Kiriella as the convenor.

A party leader who participated in the discussion told Lankasara that another purpose of this program is to remove the current government led by the Prime Minister and replace it with an all-party government.

The leader further said that even though the Jathika Janbala Wegaya was an invitee, they refused to participate in this discussion.

Regrettably, they did not participate. However, an ambitious programme will get off the ground soon.

A member who wins the confidence of a majority of members in Parliament would become the Prime Minister, and the 22nd amendment would be one of the priorities. The party Leade said.
