The recent triple murder in the Mahabodhiwatta area of Hiniduma, Galle, was committed over a dispute related to an overseas job scam, police reported. A coordinating officer of a former minister was arrested yesterday (4th) in connection with the crime.
The murders took place inside a closed hotel at around 11:15 p.m. on the 30th. Two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorbike and carried out the attack.
The victims of the shooting were identified as Indunil Saman Kumara, 55, the owner of the lodge; M. Neville, a resident of Ambalangoda; and Chathuranga Kumara, 34, a resident of Hiniduma.
Police have gathered significant details regarding the incident, and it has been decided that the Criminal Investigation Department will conduct a full investigation.
