Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee member Sujeewa Godaliyadda is being questioned by the Special Police Unit investigating sports misconduct in connection with an incident in which several files of Sri Lanka Cricket were smuggled in last Sunday.
The Special Police Unit (FSPU), which is investigating the disappearance of Cricket’s files, has visited Sri Lanka Cricket last Tuesday to inspect the security camera system at Cricket.
It has been revealed that Sujeewa Godaliyadda had come to Cricket on Sunday. During interrogation, he stated that he had come there at the call of Ashley de Silva.
But officials at the Sports Investigation Unit have observed him making several suspicious phone calls. It is reported that his mobile phone will be referred for analysis in this regard in the future.
Although the cameras did not see him carrying anything when he left the cricket institute, statements have already been obtained from one of the security guards at the cricket institute that day, a person who is said to be Sujeewa Godaliyadda’s private secretary and the driver of his vehicle.
