Dr. Chamal Sanjeeva, President of the Medical and Civil Rights Doctors Association, has issued a special request to the President, urging the removal of the former Health Minister from the cabinet in light of the recent arrest in connection with the questionable immunoglobulin drug fraud.
This marks the first instance in Sri Lanka’s history where a former secretary of the Ministry of Health has become a suspect in such a case.
Dr. Chamal emphasizes the significance of creating an environment conducive to the proper implementation of the law. The request comes as a response to the arrest of the former Health Minister and reflects the urgency of addressing corruption within the healthcare sector.
