King Charles III has recalled his unforgettable journey to Nuwara Eliya while he was on his visit to Sri Lanka and his experience in Mackwoods Tea Estate (now owned by Damro) with Sri Lanka’s envoy Rohitha Bogollagama at a recent function. According to a report in Sunday Times the king has mentioned to High Commissioner Bogollagama that he is still getting a regular supply of Sri Lanka tea.
The King who suddenly fell ill the last couple of months is now attending functions with Queen Camila occasionally. While in the meeting Queen also remembered her joyful experiences in Galle during her visit to Sri Lanka.
The High Commissioner has conveyed President Ranil Wickramasinghe’s good wishes toward the King and the family.
Bogollagama who was unable to hand over his credentials to the King due to his illness is scheduled to meet the King next month, the report further said.
