Keheliya requests Covid 19 vaccine for media personnel

Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella has requested the Presidential Task Force for Covid prevention to provide and expedite the vaccination of journalists.

The Minister had made the request at a meeting held with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on combatting the Covid 19 pandemic in the country.

The Minister said that it was proposed to give them the vaccine to continue their role as a front line team in providing accurate information to the people.

The number of journalists in the country is around 6000, out of which 1150 are provincial journalists.
