Iran Claims They Provided Prior Notice about the Missile Attacks to Israel

Turkish, Jordanian, and Iraqi officials asserted that they had provided extensive notice of an impending drone and missile attack on Israel days prior, a claim disputed by the United States.

According to reports, Iran launched a counterattack against Israel on suspicion of an Israeli assault on its embassy compound in Syria. Despite many drones and missiles being intercepted before reaching Israeli territory, the attack resulted in a young girl sustaining serious injuries, prompting global concerns of further escalation.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdullahian stated that Iran had notified neighboring countries and the United States, Israel’s ally, 72 hours before the attack.

However, the Turkish Foreign Ministry indicated that they had communicated with both Washington and Tehran before the attack, aiming to ensure proportionate reactions. This assertion was refuted by an official from the Biden administration, claiming that Iran had not provided any warning about the attack 72 hours in advance.
