The husband of a young graduate who died at Mannar Hospital due to medical negligence, took his own life yesterday (August 24) out of grief.

S. Suthan, a 26-year-old from Panichappuliyankulama, Vavuniya, died after ingesting poison. He was rushed to Vavuniya General Hospital but unfortunately did not survive.

Suthan’s wife, Mariaraj Sindhuja, lived in Murunkan, Mannar. After giving birth at Murunkan Hospital, she was readmitted due to heavy bleeding and was transferred to Mannar Hospital. The hospital staff, including doctors and nurses, dismissed her condition as normal bleeding and did not provide proper treatment. She died a few hours later.
