The LP gas shipment which was achored without unloading, due to dollar crisis has been paid buy , Litro Gas company sources said. 2500 Metric Tons of has been anchored for three days near the Wattala – Uswetakeiyawa – Thaldiyawatte gas buoy and Ministry of Finance has arranged due Dollar payments.
The unloading of gas has commenced this morning after the Ministry of Finance provided the dollar funds required to make payments for the ship.
Arrangements have been made to distribute the gas from today.
It is reported that 60 percent of the restaurants in the suburbs have been closed due to the shortage of gas and the bakeries are unable to produce their regular products such as breads and buns.
