Former Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne’s son, Minister of State for Justice and Prison Affairs, Anuradha Lanka Jayaratne, has received a written notice from Divisional Secretary Atma Dilukshi Jayaratne to cease the illegal seizure of state property. The Divisional Secretary has instructed him to vacate the property, which includes a cultural center and other constructions built on government land acquired by Jayaratne, by February 12, 2024.

In accordance with Section 3 of the Government Land Acquisition Act, the Divisional Secretary, as the competent authority, has announced the immediate need for Jayaratne to leave the property. The announcement was posted on the cultural center building.
