A young man, identified as S. Vindan Namathi, aged 16, hailing from Karainagar area in Jaffna, lost his life in a stabbing incident in London yesterday (11). Vindan Namathi was a student at a university college in London.
The unfortunate incident occurred as he was returning home from college, having taken a train from South West London to Twickenham.
Vindan Namathi was attacked with a knife while on the train, and despite immediate intervention by fellow passengers and security officers, the injuries proved fatal. The assailant was apprehended and taken into custody by the police. The exact motive behind the murder is yet to be disclosed.
Authorities in London, particularly the Twickenham Police, have initiated an investigation into the incident.
