A combined team of security forces stormed the Galle Face Green in the wee hours of this morning, inflicting injuries on a host of the strugglers who were occupying the vicinity of the Presidential Secretariat.
Ambulances that rushed to take injured protestors and journalists from the Galle Face Green vicinity to the hospital were prevented by the Security personnel on duty by blocking the accesses roads.
The protesting youth appealed to the foreign missions via social media video footage about their plight after the armed forces besieged them.
Several heads of missions telephoned the high-ups in the government to allow the ambulances to reach the conflict sight to take the injured to the hospital. The officers who held the entry points agreed to grant access to the ambulances to take the casualties away.
