A female doctor has been arrested by the Kandy Police for driving a car with fake number plates. The arrest was made during a raid conducted Wariyapola Sumangala Mawatha by the Kandy Police Divisional Crime Investigation Unit , following a tip-off received through the Police Emergency Call Unit.
Investigations have revealed that the vehicle, owned by the doctor’s husband, was carrying number plates belonging to a car registered under her brother-in-law. The doctor, who is employed at the Peradeniya Children’s Hospital, is scheduled to be produced before court.
