Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Marine Resources, Ramalingam Chandrasekar, announced that a feasibility study is underway for a tourism development project that would connect Neduntheevu with Kachchatheevu.
He made this statement while commenting on the observation tour he undertook with the President to Kachchatheevu Island yesterday.

“We inquired from the Navy about the safety of our fishermen operating in the Kachchatheevu area, the challenges they face, and the development projects planned for the region. At the same time, several initiatives are being prepared to develop the tourism sector.
In this regard, the feasibility of a project to link Neduntheevu and Kachchatheevu for tourism purposes is also being explored. Since tourists are already visiting Neduntheevu, there are plans to extend development up to Kachchatheevu,” the Minister said.
