Father Cyril Gamini will appear before the CID today (15) to give his statement, the Archdiocese of Colombo announces.
He will appear before the CID at 10 am today the Archdiocese of Colombo said.
The summons was issued two weeks ago to obtain a statement regarding a statement made by Fr. Cyril Gamini on the Director General of National Intelligence, Suresh Sale.
At the first call, two priests who came to the CID asked for a week to make a statement.
Thereafter, Fr. Cyril Gamini filed a petition in the Supreme Court on November 2, after which he went to the CID and sought a court order to prevent any attempt to arrest him.
It was considered on the 8th and the Attorney General informed that Fr. Cyril Gamini would not be arrested at this time.
Accordingly, Fr. Cyril Gamini is scheduled to appear before the CID this morning.
