China to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Kandy Municipal Council to make the city as friendship city with Qingdao the City which the controversial pathogenic organic fertilizer company is situated .
The fact was disclosed by the Chinese Ambassador, who called on the Asgiriya Mahanayake Thera this evening (14) in Kandy. Qi Zhenhong, Ambassador of the China met the Chief prelate of Asgiriya , Most Ven Warakagoda Gnanaratha has briefed the the Prelate about the ongoing organic fertilizer issue.
The Ambassador said that the Fertilizer Company was one of the leading fertilizer companies in China and that it was a large business supplier of fertilizer to all countries in the world.
The Chinese Ambassador who is staying in Kandy tomorrow (15) is scheduled to sign a MOU with the Kandy Municipal Council for the relevant formalities top make the Kandy friendship city with the city of Qingdao.
Accordingly, special groups including Kandy dignitaries will receive travel scholarships from China and will receive Chinese assistance for the development of the city.
Following the signing and opening of the agreement, the Chinese Ambassador is scheduled to visit the Malwathu Maha Viharaya tomorrow morning.
