It has been reported that Professor Ranjith Bandara, the Chairman of the COPE (Committee on Public Enterprises), has not yet responded to a request made by a group of parliamentarians urging the immediate summoning of cricket authorities to the COPE Committee.
This request follows the release of the Auditor General’s forensic audit report, which exposed numerous financial irregularities within the cricket institution.
In response to this delay, a Member of Parliament revealed to Lankasara that they intend to reiterate their proposal in Parliament during the current week, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.
Previously, a parliamentary debate on cricket irregularities took place, with the majority of MPs from various parties and the opposition expressing the need for a thorough cleansing of the cricket institution.
