Daily Covid 19 infections in Colombo increasing rapidly

Out of the 798 cases reported yesterday (08), the highest number of cases were reported from the Colombo district. That’s 526.

In addition, 97 cases were reported from the Gampaha district and 53 from the Kalutara district, according to the National Center for the Prevention of the spread of Covid-19. One Sri Lankan who came to Sri Lanka from abroad has also been identified as an infected person.

Meanwhile, the cases of the Minuwangoda – Peliyagoda Covid cluster has increased to 25,818. Of these, 17,850 people have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the National Center for the Prevention of the spread of Kovid-19.

The total number of infected people in the country is 29,377 and 21,257 of them have been completely cured.At present 7,978 Covid patients are being treated in hospitals.
