CWC rejects Namal’s offer of bunch of the ministries

Ceylon Workers Congress has refused the offer by Former Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa to the post of Minister of Sports, Minister of State for Digital Technology, Ministry of Estate Infrastructure and Ministry of Livestock if the Ceylon Workers Congress support to the government at this juncture CWC’s National Organizer P. Saththivel said.

According to him Namal Rajapaksa also have said that if Jeevan Thondaman could not accept the post, the cabinet post could be given to his Party chairman and treasurer Marudapandi Rameshwaran.

Speaking to the media, P. Saththivel revealed that his party had rejected the proposal brought by the government through Namal Rajapaksa.

He said that his party’s General Secretary Jeevan Thondaman had resigned from the post of Minister of State in support of the people affected by the economic and political crisis in the country.

“These are not the positions we want … The majority of the people in this country, including plantation workers, are suffering without fuel or gas. They are in the midst of a series of economic crises. In such a situation, the government should first provide relief to those people. ”

“We left the government because we were not satisfied with the current government’s procedures.”

“We do not need to be cabinet ministers at a time when the people of the country are expressing their displeasure with the current government.

We have decided to remain neutral in the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition against the government, ”he said.
