A request made by the former Ambassador of Russia Udayanga Weeratunga through a motion to the Fort Court seeking permission to travel abroad has been refused by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage today.

Earlier, when Udanga Wiratunga was granted bail in connection with the case related to the MiG aircraft deal, the court took steps to ban his foreign travel.

Presenting a motion before the court today, the lawyer representing Udayanga Weeratunga stated that his client has to travel abroad to participate in an international trade conference, and that the relevant ban be temporarily relaxed.
