The issuing certificates in the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been temporarily stopped due to a breakdown in information system .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that due to a breakdown in the computer system, the issuing of certificates in the Ministry’s Consular Affairs Division and regional offices of Jaffna, Trincomalee, Matara, Kandy, Kurunegala has been temporarily suspended until further notice.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the repair work of the computer system has started and will be notified again once it is restored.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs further states that other consular services will continue without any interruption.
