The Police curfew imposed on Colombo North, Colombo Central and Colombo South Police Divisions and Negombo, Kelaniya Nugegoda and Mr.Lavinia Police Divisions covering the city of Colombo will be lifted at 8.00 am today.
The curfew, which was imposed to prevent the massive public protest that will be held today (July 09), received a lot of objections from the legal community and civil activists since yesterda. And it was stated that this will not be covered by any ordinance in this country. According to this, if someone is ready to violate democratic rights by using this curfew law, the filing of fundamental rights cases against the police officers involved was also noticed last night.
