CID sleuths told services no longer required… 19 officers given the boot..

Nineteen policemen including nine OICs of the CID have been transferred to normal duties from yesterday (11).

A senior official who expressed his views in this regard revealed that these transfers have been made with the intention of reorganizing the CID and new officers will be appointed for investigations.The officer also stated that SPs and ASPs will be recruited as required. 

The Police Headquarters states that the Acting Inspector General of Police has given these transfers in view of the allegations leveled against the officers who had served in the CID for some time.

The CID officers had been informed that their services are no longer needed and they have been transferred as a result.

Among the transferred Chief Inspectors are four female officers. The officers who investigated the Easter Sunday attack, Rishad Bathiudeen and his brother, were also among the transferred officers.
