Ven. Nedalagamuwe Dhammadinna Thero, Professor of Chinese Language, Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya, who had expressed his views in support of the protesters surrendered to the Gampaha Police today (27) at 7 am along with a group of lawyers.
The Thera appeared before the Police following the information he received that Police were preparing to arrest him on seven charges in connection wuth May 09th incidents.
Statements are currently being recorded from Ven. Professor Dhammadinna Thera . A large crowd of villagers, a large number of people of all faiths, including Catholic Hindus, gathered near the court.
Ven. Prof. Nedalagamuwe Dhammadinna Thero has been named as a suspect in a case filed in the Gampaha court in connection with the arson attack on Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga’s Udugampola house, according to police sources.
