Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenghong is on a three day official visit to the North provice from today diplomatic sources said. His sudden visit was in the wake of China abandoning the implementation of power projects planned to be implemented in three islands in the North.
He is scheduled to visit Vavuniya and Jaffna from today.
During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with Governor of the North Jeevan Thyagaraja.
The Chinese embassy recently announced that it had abandoned power projects planned to operate on three northern islands due to a security crisis caused by a third party.
