Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, Mahinda Amaraweera, has submitted a cabinet paper proposing a 50% reduction in the price of MOP or Bundi fertilizer. Currently, public sector fertilizer companies possess 28,600 metric tons of Bundi fertilizer, making the cost reduction feasible.
Minister Amaraweera indicated that the cabinet paper, outlining the 50% price reduction for fertilizer, has been presented for Cabinet approval and is awaiting endorsement from President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
