In a recent Cabinet meeting, a proposal set forth by the President to increase the Disturbance, Availability, and Transport allowance (DAT) for doctors has been approved. The allowance, currently at Rs. 35,000, is set to be doubled, reaching Rs. 70,000.
Additionally, the Cabinet has given the green light to a proposal by the President to raise the study allowance for university teachers by 25%. This increase will be implemented in conjunction with the January salary.
Furthermore, the President suggested a modification in the living expense allowance for government employees. Originally proposed to be Rs. 10,000 from April 2024, the Cabinet has approved a revised allocation of Rs. 5,000. The adjusted living expense allowance is expected to take effect from the coming month of April.
