The security forces have uncovered information about the involvement of the son of a former deputy minister in connection with the burning of Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s house.

CID sources said the suspect had fled the country to Dubai before arresting him.

The suspect’s father is a former deputy minister of the Mahinda Rajapaksa government and later joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

The above sources have confirmed that the son of the minister who set fire to the house of the Acting President is also working as an electoral organizer of Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

Video footage at the time of setting the house on fire and the protest preceding that is available, and the security forces have conducted an extensive probe on the footage.
