The lifeless body of an individual, believed to be an Indian fisherman, was discovered washed up on Mullivaikal beach, today (19). The suspicion arises from Telugu characters written on the chest of the deceased.
The incident unfolded after the body was spotted by fishermen, prompting the involvement of local authorities, including the police and army officers stationed in the area. Preliminary investigations suggest that the individual may have been an Indian fisherman.
Mullivaikal Area Police responded to the scene, and after conducting initial assessments, the body was sent for further examination at Mulativ Hospital. The discovery of Telugu characters on the chest hints at potential Indian origins, and the local Indian Deputy High Commissioner’s office in Jaffna has been informed for further coordination.
