The body of Sri Lankan nurse Anula Jayathilaka, who was killed in Israel by Hamas shooters on the 7th, was brought to Sri Lanka today morning (28) 21 days after her death.
The family was convinced that she was not dead and was being held by Hamas fighters. It is based on unclear views of a video clip published in the international media regarding the arrest of Hamas fighters.
But later her body was identified by her family. Relatives of the home where she worked said that she was shot and killed while trying to save the life of the elderly mother she was taking care of.
Family relatives were present at the airport to receive Anula Jayathilaka’s body. Meanwhile, a group of officials from the Foreign Employment Bureau have also come and stayed with it.
The Israeli government has declared that she will be considered as a murdered Israeli citizen and will be given all the compensation.
