In a case related to the removal of Ministers Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando from the Samagi Jana Balavega Party, the petitioners have raised concerns about the documents submitted by the party through a motion.
The petitioners argue that these documents are fabricated and were specifically prepared for the case, and they are urging the court not to accept them. President’s lawyer Faizer Mustafa has also raised concerns about discrepancies between the documents submitted in the statement of objection and those presented in the motion concerning the expulsion of the two ministers from the party.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya had submitted a meeting report to the court as part of their motion to remove the two ministers. The lawyers representing the petitioners claim that this report was created and submitted with the intention of targeting the case.
As a result, they have requested the court to issue an order rejecting these documents. The court has acknowledged these concerns and will make a decision on the matter.
Legal experts have pointed out that submitting fake documents to the court could potentially lead to a case of contempt of court.
