BMW car found in a house situated in Scool Avenue Nawala
The police narcotics bureau has found a BMW car registered under Piumi Hansamali’s name in the garage of a suspect , who was arrested in connection with narcotics. The car was found following a special investigation conducted by the Police Narcotic Bureau for importing kush and cocaine through air mail. Investigative officers searched the arrested businessman’s Nawala house and the car was found there.
The suspected businessman had directed another individual to bring 5 kg of kush and 500 grams of cocaine to a courier service company by airmail earlier this year. However, the businessman was evading arrest for some time and was recently taken into custody. The arrest was made following a lengthy investigation conducted by the officer in charge of the intelligence unit of the Police Narcotic Division on the suspect and his activities.
The suspect is a leading Auto Parts importer
The suspect was a leading automobile spare parts importer based in Panchikawatta. The businessman was arrested by the investigative officers while coming out of a private hospital in the Narahenpita area. The police said that the suspect was found to be living in a rented luxury house in the Nawala Koswatta area earlier this year. After the Police Narcotics Bureau comprehended the drug stock, he left the house and moved to another luxury house near Nawala School Avenue.
The police investigations are underway to verify real ownership of the car and verify whether it was sold by Piumi Hansamali or any other deal behind it.
Piumi Hansamali’s investigations continue
The police are currently investigating the assets acquired by model Piumi Hansamali. According to Hansamali, she acquired all of her assets through selling a whitening cream product that she has been endorsing. She claimed to have been selling one pack of whitening cream for Rs. 35,000, and the demand for the product was very high. Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reported that the whitening cream endorsed by Hansamali was not registered with the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA).
