As part of an earlier agreement, the Government of Bangladesh is set to donate a stock of medicines valued at US$ 58,000 to the Government of Sri Lanka in the coming week. This donation includes 54 essential medicines, among which there are medications vital for cancer and kidney patients.
In addition to this donation, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh has announced that the government of Bangladesh will provide another batch of medicines valued at one million US dollars as aid to Sri Lanka.
Minister Pathirana emphasized the importance of establishing a long-term program with the Bangladeshi government to address the current shortage of medicines in Sri Lanka.
