Some schools teachers of Bandaragama were threatened over the phone saying that they will be kidnapped If they do not attend to school on the 21st,Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said.
Jayasinghe said that school teachers in the Bandaragama division have been telephoned by people claiming to be from the intelligence unit, threatening to kidnapped if they do not show up at school on the 21st.
Mr. Mahinda Jayasinghe presented these telephone numbers at a public media briefing. According to him, the telephone numbers are 0712447993, 0705464412, 0774845050.
Mr. Jayasinghe stressed that teachers who are engaged in a just struggle are not afraid of these threats and that teachers cannot be intimidated by guns aimed at their heads, adding that the teachers’ struggle will continue.
